Welcome

This is for people who are unsure about using a pottery wheel. It is a 2 hour class for you to "get the feel" of using the wheel. Most people make at least one  item during the session. The final trimming and glazing are done for you. Wear old clothes and shoes and it is best to have short fingernails.

We will meet for six 2 hour classes once a week for 5 consecutive weeks with a break after the 5th class to allow for work to be fired. Return two weeks later to glaze the items you made during the first 5 classes.  You will learn the basics of using the wheel, trimming thrown pieces, attaching handles, and glazing. Only two spaces open.  Ages 16 and up. 

Each project will be made using hand building techniques. Workshops will last 2 to 2 & 1/2 hours.  If you take 5 classes, the 6th one is free. No prior experience working with clay is needed. Projects are designed for ages 14 years & up. You must register & pay in advance to reserve your spot.  Six seats open in each class.  See schedule below.
